The chosen structures are complex sentences with a subordinate clause containing an ing-participle and these sentences are structurally different from their Czech equivalents. The theoretical part analyses Czech verbal tendencies and English nominal tendencies which result in the structural differences of both languages. The practical part describes the research and offers evaluation of the translation of particular sentences with regards to their structural character. ER
