The aim of the research is to compare first-year and second-year master study programme students' opinions. In order to collect data, a non-standardised questionnaire was used. The theoretical part deals with specific competences; namely linguistic, linguodidactic and communicative competences. The practical part concentrates on the analysis of the level of acquisition of the competences students gained in selected compulsory subjects. ER
