In the first one, the PISA research is introduced. The main period of focus is 2003, when mathematical literacy was investigated in greater detail. Individual components of mathematical literacy are described and their mutual interrelatedness is outlined. The second part provides a sample of problems that served as stimuli in the research. Their analysis with respect to individual mathematical skills is demonstrated. ER
